When taking out or renewing house contents insurance, the insurer will often ask if you have BS3621 locks on your doors so what are they ? These are mortice sash or deadlocks (commonly known as chubb locks) normally fitted to wooden doors you can tell if you have BS3621 locks fitted by opening the door and having a look at the faceplate of the lock. If it has a British standard Kite Mark on it with BS3621 stamped underneath then this is what they are asking for, however if your locks does not have this identifying mark then we suggest you upgrade your locks.
